In a latest put up on my Ice Cream Recipes Facebook web page I featured this fab picture despatched to me by my buddy Pat from sunny Cyprus.
I requested readers to guess the ice cream flavours. Oh what enjoyable it was! The response to the put up was superb and folks made every kind of ideas. Some guesses had been very shut and some had been slightly .. er … for example ‘imaginative’ 🙂
One ice cream fanatic steered beetroot and onions! One other, bacon and rooster! After 5 days of guessing, it was Louise McInnes from Scotland who bought it proper. Her first put up guessed Crimson Velvet for the highest scoop and her second put up guessed White Chocolate for the underside scoop. She was spot on!
If you wish to make your individual selfmade variations of those ice cream flavours listed here are my recipes.
NOTE: My recipe is for a wealthy and creamy ice cream with crumbled actual Crimson Velvet cake added. The recipe is similar to my Christmas Pudding ice cream.
Step 1 – Make a wealthy custard base utilizing:
1/2 pint (250ml) chilled entire milk
4 egg yolks
4 oz (100g) sugar or caster sugar
Step 2 – When the custard is chilled, add the remaining substances:
1/2 pint (250ml) chilled, double/heavy cream
8 oz (200g) Crimson Velvet cake (crumbled and chilled)
The total checklist of substances and directions is on my devoted, white chocolate ice cream recipe web page.
It is without doubt one of the hottest ice cream recipes downloaded by readers through the years. Particularly at Christmas time!
